Hero Quest Re-Scripted Homebrew

Hero Quest is one of our most beloved tabletop RPG experiences. We have many fond memories from our childhood of crawling through dark dungeon corridors, slaying orcs and goblins with swords and spells, finding treasure and magical artifacts, and ultimately defeating the big bad evil wizard Zargon.

It’s a fun, if fairly simple, game system originally designed to help act as a sort of transitionary game, bringing players from traditional family games like Monopoly or Clue? into more complex games, such as Warhammer or Dungeons & Dragons. Unfortunately, the simplicity of its mechanics can sometimes lead to extended periods of play where one or more players may not be able to do very much on their turn and this can cause for a very stale experience of an otherwise fun game.

As such, Hero Quest Re-scripted is a set of homebrew rules designed to expand upon the player agency in the game through the addition of new and modified game mechanics, while maintaining the simple nature of the core game that makes it so charming in the first place.
