Discover the “Air D&D” at Maple Rock Resorts
If you like D&D, and you’ve ever been in a mansion, you’ve probably thought to yourself at some point “this place could use a secret door.” If you haven’t, don’t tell me, I’m gonna continue with my life under the assumption that it’s a universal experience. Well, Maple Rock Resorts fulfills that wish at their AirD&D; a D&D themed Airbnb, as I’m sure you put together from the name. They really provide all you could want from a D&D rental property, from class themed bedrooms (and one for the DM), to rustic decorations and arms and armour lining the walls, and, of course, secret doors galore. Seriously, I hope you roll well on your investigation checks, there are a lot of them.
If you can’t be entertained purely by being in a big D&D mansion, there is much more there to keep you occupied, presumably between D&D sessions. Inside the house there is a gym, a pool table, multiple TVs, and arcade cabinets. Step outside to find the hot tub, the sauna, the ball pit, the D20 shaped firepit, a basketball court, and of course, the Tavern. While the house has multiple large communal spaces that are perfectly fit for gaming, it is first and foremost a living space, while the Tavern is a spectacular dedicated gaming space. A massive wooden table with a throne for the DM dominates the center of the room as soon as you walk in, making it the perfect place to play out your campaign, or any board games you might be feeling. If that wasn’t enough, the tavern also has its own wall of arcade machines, a projector screen, and its own sleeping space.
I spent a week there, and I don’t think I fully explored every nook and cranny, and I’d need to write a LOT more to do justice to all the details Maple Rock Resorts has put into their AirD&D mansion.
If you and your family or friends are looking for a vacation with a nerdier tilt, this is the place to do it, and if you do, you can use our promo code CANTINA to get a bottle of house wine with your stay.
